BMT and Innovyz Institute announce advanced materials and manufacturing program alliance

 

BMT, the world’s leading maritime design and engineering consulting firm today announces a collaboration with Adelaide incubation firm Innovyz Institute on developing the best and brightest in Australian manufacturing and advanced materials.

 

The collaboration involves the Innovyz Institute run Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Program, which will seek to commercialise new manufacturing products and advanced materials over a nine-month period and will be run out of Tonsley Park in Adelaide.  

 

“BMT is delighted to be partnering with Innovyz Institute, which is a company that shares our belief in the great potential of Australian industry and know-how,” BMT Managing Director, Peter Behrendt said.  

 

“Our company is a world leader when it comes to maritime design and engineering consulting so there is a natural fit between BMT and what Innovyz Institute is seeking to do,” Mr Behrendt said.  

 

As part of our collaboration with Innovyz Institute, BMT will contribute to sourcing advanced materials and manufacturing innovation applications as well as mentor program participants,” he said

 

“Innovyz Institute programs are globally renowned for turning great ideas into great companies and we look forward to helping advance Australia’s next generation of great products.

 

“The future of Australian manufacturing is in innovation and doing things that have not been tried before,” Mr Behrendt said. 

 

“There is so much research going on in our universities at the moment the we are confident that there are great ideas out there  that can be turned into great materials and manufacturing companies,” said Innovyz Institute General Manager Tom Kenyon.

 

“We are really looking forward to working with a leading design and engineering company like BMT. We know they will make a great partner in this program,” Mr Kenyon said.  

 

The Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Program is funded through both the Federal Government and private investment.  Innovyz Institute has run similar programs in the fields of health and wellness, and waste and recycling.
