ITALIAN NAVY – THE NAVAL CAMPAIGN OF ITS CARABINIERE VISITS THE AUSTRALIA



The Italian Navy FREMM (European Multi-Mission Frigate) Carabiniere will visit Australia from the 25th January until the 24th February 2017.


In every port, scheduled in Fremantle (25-31 January), Adelaide (5- 10 February), Sydney (14-19 February) and Melbourne (21-24 February), the Commanding Officer of ITS Carabiniere, Commander Francesco Pagnotta, will hold a press conference on board talking about the ship and her South-East Asia and Australia naval campaign.


The Embassy of Italy has the pleasure to announce that the Italian Navy FREMM (European Multi-Mission Frigate) Carabiniere, commanded by CDR Francesco Pagnotta, will visit Australia from the 25th January until the 24th February 2017.


The Embassy will provide information on dates, timing and details regarding the access to the ship as soon as available.


ITS Carabiniere is an anti-submarine warship that has been delivered to the Italian Navy in April 2015, as the fourth FREMM of ten to be commissioned. ITS Carabiniere is fitted with a latest generation platform and combat systems based on state-of-the-art military and civil standards.


ITS Carabiniere’s deployment is aimed to strength the on-going cooperation activities with some transregional allies and develop relations with potential partners. Main themes of the naval campaign is thus maritime safety and surveillance, cooperation strengthening and naval diplomacy.


The deployment has been organised with the support of Fincantieri (lead sponsor), Leonardo, MBDA Italia, Elettronica and Telespazio with RTV San Marino and RAI World as Media Partner.
