Asia-Pacific Defence Reporter has been a leading authority on defence reporting for more than 30 years. Established in 1974, the Asia-Pacific Defence Reporter (APDR) provides expert reportage analysis of defence, security and geopolitical issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Three decades of experience underpin the magazine's coverage and bolster its reputation.

APDR serves the international defence community, defence industry, and other subscribers ranging from political leaders to intelligence analysts and academics with accurate, timely, relevant information.

The APDR Team

Peter La Franchi - Editor-in-Chief/Publisher. Peter joined APDR in January 2008. With over 18 years' journalistic experience in the defence and aviation industry, Peter has held various key Editorial positions including Unmanned Aviation Editor of Flight International, and in 1990 being appointed as media advisor to the former Australian Defence Minister Senator Robert Ray. Between 1999 and 2001 Peter's defence reporting was regularly published by the Australian Financial Review, Australia's premier daily business newspaper.

Kym Bergmann - Senior Reporter. Kym Bergmann has held a variety of senior positions in the Defence industry for more than 20 years, including several Board appointments. He first worked as a journalist in the 1980s, specialising in foreign affairs and defence. He also worked for a Cabinet Minister as a policy advisor during the Hawke Government.

Abraham Gubler - Senior Reporter. Abraham first wrote for APDR in March 2008 but has been a reader since he was a teenager. His professional experience includes service in the Army and government policy development. He has four years of editorial and writing experience with several Australian and international defence publications. Abraham was honoured as the Most Outstanding Student Journalist at the 2003 Queensland Media Awards and was a participant in the Prime Minister's 2008 Australia 2020 Forum.

Rosemary Jeffree - Circulation Manager. A vital member of the APDR team, Rosemary is reponsible for all areas of magazine subscription and manages our ever-growing readership around the world.
